Shirasagi Castle: Japan, 1942.

Japan had been at war for two years when Toshi Yoshida made this picture. My poem is inspired by the contrast of this supremely peaceful image with the year of its creation. The image symbolises so many untold stories in a country typified by subtle, delicate expression.
